Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She was also an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network star with her trademark spiky blonde hair and a pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes on her TV show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked and studied at the top New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the cuisine of Italy. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and eating from an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went after earning an English diploma and Communications certificate in Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America is a wonderful experience. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for a year, studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin highly rated restaurant) located in Tuscany. In her time in Italy she was able to fully appreciate and understand the philosophy behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that left a lasting impact from a culinary viewpoint. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. As a guest speaker and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her passion for cooking as well as her career. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate that I could share her true passion with the people around her.
