Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko fights as an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is the younger sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career started as a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title before being defeated by Suzane Mller with a majority vote. Antonina kept her winning streak going by getting bronze and silver medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, a Gold medal in the year 2011, as well as the year-end 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia was a professional who started her professional career in 2003, won in 2012 and 2016 the International Lion Fight Lightweight championships. The WMC World Championships also held in 2016 and she won the 2016 IFMA Amateur Thai World Champion. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas last at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut was in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She was victorious via TKO during the 2nd round and went on to win her 2 subsequent fights in the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. It gave her an MMA record of 3-0. Shevchenko went on a hiatus from MMA to focus on her kickboxing, and she made her comeback against Anissa Haddaoui during Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko won against Anissa via unanimous decision before prevailing over Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She left the promotion in the year 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized superior strikes to TKO Nievera by knees to her body while in the clinch. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded a UFC contract after the victory. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight after winning the first fight via an unanimous decision. Antonina bounced right back after losing and defeated Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission in the second round. This fight earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina has recently been defeated by Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
